Diazu Development Initiative is a social impact organisation with collaborative media resourcing  for storytelling and advocacy communication of climate, agriculture and health related developments.

Our foremost strategy is dedicated to advancing media-advocacy and strategic communication in environment, agriculture and health content storytelling using technology and new media systems.

Through this mission, we are able to amplify and harmonise news-events, data and storytelling in climate, health and related sectors. We aim to harmonise storytelling outputs in podcasts, radio, television, documentary, training, UGC Competitions and community mobilisation projects reaching thousands of beneficiaries.

Chairperson

Hamzat Lawal is an activist who has successfully led grassroots campaigns in over 40 African countries with over 15 years experience in the non-profit sector and specializes in practical issues associated with Climate Change, Open Data, advocacy campaigns and development policies as it affects rural and deprived grassroots communities.

He is also the Founder of Follow The Money, the largest Pan-African grassroots data-driven movement and leads a team of technology and innovation-driven campaigners to amplify the voices of marginalized grassroots communities in promoting accountability as it affects utilization of public funds focusing on specific communities across Africa. His Follow The Money initiative emerged winner of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Mobilizer 2019 Award, at the Bonn SDG Global Festival of Action, Germany.

He is currently the Chief Executive of Connected Development (CODE),  under his leadership in 2017, CODE won the ONE Africa Award which recognizes, rewards, and advances the exceptional work of Africa based organisations; dedicated to helping the continent achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Also, CODE won The Council of Europe Democracy Innovation Award which recognizes Follow The Money as one of the leading ground- breaking initiatives in the world that are promoting democratic principles.

Hamzat was recently appointed on Beyoncé’s BeyGood Global Citizen Fellowship as an Advisory Board Member. He was also recognized amongst the 100 most influential Africans in 2019, joining the ranks of Amina J Mohammed, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Aliko Dangote. In 2018 & 2019, he was listed as one of the world’s 100 most influential people in digital government by Apolitical. He is currently leading a global education campaign to accelerate girl’s’ education and ending girl-child marriages starting with the Northeast in Nigeria as a Malala Fund Education Champion.  He is also a Chevening Awards recipient and scholar

Co-Founder/Executive Director

Femi D. Amele is a multi-award-winning broadcast journalist with 18 years experience in Radio, TV and prints. He is the CEO Vibing Brands, a media and technology firm. He is also the Executive Director at Volume PODS LLC,  an  organisation focused on analytical journalism and video contents. He also host the fast rising podcast titled Volume with FemiDlive.

He is a strategic management expert with work and leadership experience of 20  years  across leading media and development brands in Nigeria. He works extensively on “scale and sustainability management techniques”.

A graduate of electronics engineering and holds qualifications from International Business Management Institute, Berlin on Strategic Management and a certification in Global Diplomacy, the University of London. He holds qualifications in Management Strategy with Metropolitan School of Business and Management, UK and currently undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration with Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

 He believes the future of the media will be to have interactive data driven engagement with audience in existing and emerging media forms. Stories will be presented to audiences in a vividly engulfing feeling and practical assessment of impact.

Moses Nwokedi (BigMo) 
A leading broadcaster and creative executive with 20 years experience across Radio, TV, Films and media advocacy planning. He supervises multi language content production and Program Manager at indigenous radio station in Abuja. He holds a Post Graduate Degree and Masters in Communication. A  member of Society of Nigeria Broadcasters (SNB) as well as a member of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). .  His artistry has a voice over act has in BBC productions and live events Nigeria

Senior Partnership Executive

Michael Oluwarantimi Jeremiah, is Senior Project Executive, working at the Centre for Innovative Content Strategy and Development (CISD), a project arm of Diazu Development Initiative. He leads research creative and story writing for thematic advocacy campaigns in the organisation. His work profile covers project management for multi-partnership project of Vibing Brands, Volume Pods LLC and Diazu Development Initiative for supporting partner The Heinrich Böll Foundation. He is grounded in podcast planning in various thematic subjects of Food/Agriculture Systems, Migration and Environment.

 

Programs Executive

Onome Atunusha is a media and communications professional with experience in radio broadcasting, event hosting, panel moderation, and content curation and creation. She works with brands, NGOs, and individuals to develop and deliver authentic storytelling, strategic messaging, and engaging content that connects meaningfully with diverse audiences.

 

Through her work on radio and at live events, Onome has led conversations that inform, inspire, and drive action particularly around social impact, community engagement, and audience-centered communication. She is skilled in moderating insightful discussions, curating compelling narratives, and translating complex issues into relatable and engaging content across radio, digital, and live platforms.

 

With a strong understanding of audience engagement and media dynamics, Onome brings clarity, professionalism, and purpose to every platform she works on, helping partners amplify their voices, strengthen visibility, and create lasting impact.
